How the Strider trains
Distance and speed. Keep most of your running or riding easy enough to talk through, make one session a week hard and one long, and add strength twice a week for the legs, hips and trunk so the miles stay comfortable. Grow the weekly total gradually rather than in jumps.
A sample week
| Day | Session |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | Easy run, then legs and core strength |
| Day 2 | Easy run or rest |
| Day 3 | Intervals or a tempo run |
| Day 4 | Rest or mobility |
| Day 5 | Easy run, then strength |
| Weekend | One long, easy session |
Adjust it to your time and your recovery; any sensible week you keep beats a perfect one you drop.
Muscles to look after
This way of training leans on Calves, Hamstrings, Glutes, Tibialis. Their pages on the body map list the movements that train them and what balances them.
